The October/November newsletter is now available! In this edition, we discuss Trick-or-Treating Safety and give some helpful tips to keep your kids safe this Halloween. We are also giving away free glowsticks and flashlights to further increase the visibility of your children as they trick or treat. To get your free safety equipment, simply fill out and submit the form provided on this page.
In addition to Halloween safety, the newsletter highlights the School Bus Safety week (Oct. 21–25) and provides a few illustrations to help motorists understand when to stop for school buses on our roads. This is a common problem in Utah, which has led to many accidents where children have been severely injured. Don’t let this happen to you. Study diligently the diagrams provided.
It’s that time a year again, our annual Jazz-O’Latern competition is back! This year’s prize: first-and second-place winners will be awarded, each receiving two lower-bowl tickets to a 2013-2014 Utah Jazz season game. All you have to do to enter is be as creative as possible and carve a Jazz-themed pumpkin and submit a photo of it to ian@chlawfirm.com before Wednesday, October 30th at 5:00 PM (MST). For more information on competition rules see our blog post.
Featured in this edition, our September 2013 Golden Apple Award was rewarded to Lorie Reynolds. The School Supplies Gift Program was created to help teachers pay for school supplies. Good Guys Injury Law understands the burden that may be felt by teachers to provide children with the school supplies needed to teach and encourage children to learn and grow. These supplies are frequently paid for by the teachers because school budgets are often too low. The Golden Apple Award provides the teacher with a gift card to help with the cost of the school supplies. Want to nominate a teacher for the Golden Apple Award? Visit our nominations page to give a deserving teacher the chance to win. Be sure to read about Lorie Reynold’s contribution to the community in our newsletter and why we felt she was deserving of the award.
