There is no better way to build a relationship with your dog than to spend time with it. There is no better place to do so than a dog park. Salt Lake City offers several off-leash dog parks with perfect serenity that will make you forget you’re in the city. Forget your schedule and forget your leash. Your body will thank you for the fresh air, and your dog will shower you with obedience.

Tanner Park

Although Tanner Park is not an official dog park, it is a great place to bring your dog and explore some of the trails that the park offers. In some areas you are required to have your dog on a leash, but once you cross the bridge, you are free to let your pet run around. The park also offers a creek and a small reservoir for your pet to cool off. Bring plenty of water, as drinking out of the stream is not recommended. Because of the popularity, there is usually a shortage of doggy bags. Visitors are advised to bring their own.

Address: 2740 South 2700 East SLC, Utah.

Lindsay Gardens

This park has plenty of trees to provide necessary shade on a hot day. Sticks are also abundant to keep your dog occupied. The park isn’t very big, but you’re almost guaranteed to have a nice time alone with your dog. Keep in mind, there is no running water, so it is advised you bring your own. The park should supply doggy bags, but bring your own just in case.

Address: 426 North M Street SLC, Utah.

Memory Grove Park

Located not far from the capital building, this park offers several friendly walking paths past quaint historic houses and buildings. This park is also perfect for dogs. Though not permitted to swim in the lake, there is a creek that dogs are often seen playing around in. The leash-free area isn’t fenced, so make sure to keep an eye out for your hound. The park supplies its visitors with doggy bags, so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. Benches are abundant along the path. This is a great park!

Address: 375 North Canyon Road SLC, Utah.
