Good Guys Injury Law recently recovered $430,000 for two injured car accident victims, both of them young teens. Personal injury attorney Ken Christensen strongly recommends motorists obtain greater amounts of insurance coverage (UM/UIM) in order to protect themselves and their families from financial ruin in the case of a car accident caused by another person.
The injured car accident victims mentioned above were only sixteen and seventeen years old when the incident took place. The police report and eye-witness accounts confirm that the teens, of which there were three, entered an intersection in their car after the traffic light turned green, giving them the right-of-way. A large truck, turning left, drove into the direct line of travel of the car, leaving the young teens no time to react or avoid the collision.
The occupants in the large truck were not seriously hurt, but the three young teens were critically injured, of which two were flown by LifeFlight to a local hospital. Before being flown to a hospital, the seventeen-year-old had to be cut out of the car’s windshield; he had been in the back seat of the car at impact and ended up mid-body through the glass.
Personal injury attorney Ken Christensen urges all motorists to carry ample motor vehicle insurance coverage. He says, “Every motorist should ensure maximum car insurance coverage, so that in the case of a serious car accident, medical bills and related costs would be covered. It’s a matter of math and logic. If you get into an auto accident and incur $75,000 in medical bills, yet you only have the minimum $25,000 requirement for motor vehicle coverage, you and your family will be left paying the difference. Don’t be illogical. Do the math and protect your family.”
