Halloween Events in Salt Lake: Fun and Affordable Options

Halloween brings opportunities for all sorts of haunted and scary activities — but many of us like things a little more toned-down. Fortunately, there are several family-friendly Halloween events in Salt Lake to choose from. From pumpkin patches to block parties, it is easy to plan a fun holiday weekend if you look in the right places. We love finding new things to do around the Salt Lake area, and decided to list a few of our favorites here. Whether or not you choose to visit any of these festivals and attractions, we hope you and your family enjoy a happy Halloween!

Halloween Events in Salt Lake: Our Favorites

These are some of our favorite options for Salt Lake area Halloween activities:

This fun event in downtown Salt Lake is as affordable as it gets — free! The city government, along with several sponsors, organizes the Monster Block Party. There are many family-friendly activities, including trick-or-treat booths and a costume contest. One of our favorite things about the party is the “fire truck pumpkin smash.” For the smash, Salt Lake City firefighters drop a pumpkin from the top of a fire truck.

The Monster Block Party takes place on October 29th, 2016, at the Gallivan Center Plaza.

We love this pumpkin patch in Riverton. It is a classic patch with many different kinds of pumpkins, a corn maze, tractor rides, and local produce. If you and your family are looking for a pumpkin patch to visit, we highly recommend this one! Halloween is its last day of operation, so you can prepare for a night of trick-or-treating fun by picking up some pumpkins.

  • Gardner Village Witchfest

Each year, the West Jordan shopping center Gardner Village puts on its Witchfest. The festival includes many different witch-themed activities, including a witch display and a witch scavenger hunt. This may sound scary, but the witches are friendly!

If you know of other fun and affordable Halloween events in Salt Lake or its surrounding cities, leave a comment and let us know!
