- Just outside of Salt Lake, Big Cottonwood Canyon features all sorts of outdoor activities. It also makes for a beautiful drive. Take the road up to Brighton Ski Resort, and if you’d like, stop and enjoy one of the many great hiking, climbing, or biking options.
- Alta and Snowbird ski resorts are located in the mountains surrounding Little Cottonwood Canyon. The hour-long drive from Salt Lake to Alta is very scenic. For those who are looking to liven up their drive, the canyon offers great hiking and biking opportunities.
- This scenic drive runs through the Uinta National Forest near Mt. Nebo. You can access the loop by entering the mouth of Payson Canyon. The drive features many natural attractions, such as the red-rock Devil’s Kitchen formation.
