2015 Married Student Law Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Leah Aston of Provo, Utah

IMG_0213We are extremely pleased to announce Leah Aston of Brigham Young University Law School in Provo, Utah as the recipient of our 2015 Married Student Law Scholarship. As part of Leah’s submission, she shared with us a portion of her law school experience so far, and we would like to share it with you here.

Leah learned that she was pregnant with her first child two months before starting her first semester of law school at the J Rueben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah. She wondered whether she would be able to handle everything that was coming her way. She was determined to be successful, so she rallied her husband and law school professors around her in order to complete her first year at the top of her class. Her second year of law school brought new challenges—balancing family life, especially with a newborn, and financial strain can be extremely difficult—but she found success once again and continued in the top 5% of her class. As she completes her law degree, we hope this scholarship will provide some needed relief and encourage her to pursue her future goals of travelling from Provo to work with the Utah Supreme Court and specialize in appellate work.

We are excited to see many individuals pursuing their goals and dreams in higher education, and enjoy the opportunity to recognize goal-oriented individuals such as Leah.
