Vacation Ideas to the North

  • Redfish Lake

Located in central Idaho, this is a blue, clear lake with sandy white beaches at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains. There are camping and RV sites, as well as the Redfish Lake Lodge. The Lodge has cabins, restaurants, and a beautiful marina. It’s a great place to enjoy the beach, water, and the scenery.

  • Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park is found in the northwest corner of Wyoming. During the summer, it is a popular destination for hiking and camping. There are also several lakes in the park people love to use for kayaking, paddle boarding, and canoeing. Also, the famous city of Jackson Hole is near the park, with 5-star hotels, shops, and restaurants.

  • Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore is a bit of a drive, but it is a wonderful place to go, especially for first-timers. The massive carving is in the Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota. Besides the monument itself, you can visit the Crazy Horse Memorial, museums, and shows. The Black Hills National Forest also has great places to hike and camp.

Vacations to the South

  •  Grand Canyon

If you head south, there are also some great places to see! The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona is an American icon. It is truly a natural wonder everyone should see once during their lifetime. The Canyon has outlooks, rim trails, and tours. There are also great trips you can take down into the canyon, such as Havasupai Falls. This is a classic, but still one of our favorite vacation ideas.

  • Lake Powell

Lake Powell is a reservoir on the border between Utah and Arizona. It is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It has beautiful blue water surrounded by red rock. Many people enjoy water activities such as paddle boarding and tubing. It is also a great place to try out a houseboat!

Vacations in the West

  • Redwood National Park

The Redwood National Forest is located along the coast in northern California. It is home to some of the tallest trees on Earth. There are trails and camping destinations, and great places to ride your bike. It is definitely worth the drive!
