If you have been bitten by a dog, you know how serious the situation can be for all parties involved, including the dog. While the bite may have been an accident, the consequences can be very serious. The following is a list of resources for those who have been bitten by dogs, as well as those who have the dog who has bit or those who are simply interested in learning about dog bites.

AVMA

AVMA is short for the American Veterinary Medical Association. Their site has statistics, podcasts, and educational videos for both children and parents who are interested in learning about dog bite prevention. The site advocates healthy decisions for everyone involved including the dog if he has bitten.

The CDC has several resources on dog bite statistics on a national scale. They also have preventative information for a varying age group. The site also has scholarly articles you can check out about some of the emotional, physical, and psychological damages that may occur from dog bites. These articles can provide a good basis for loved ones or those who are injured to know what they are dealing with.

Dogbites.org

Dogbites.org is a nonprofit organization that provides resources for dog bite victims. They have a blog, book information, statistics, and information you should be aware of as a dog owner and if you come into contact with other dogs. The website also has a blog on different dog issues.

The Humane Society

The Humane Society looks to educate the public on how to not be bitten by dogs and what to do if you have been bitten by a dog. The site also provides some advice for the owner of the dog who has bitten someone so they can make the best decision for both the individual and the dog. The site is interactive and has several videos to engage the reader.

Prevent the Bite

This website has a list of resources for specific age group, demographics, types of dogs, insurance companies, and different books you can look into. The site looks to provide education to the public as a solution to eliminating harmful or fatal dog bites.
